Best Before Dates

"Best Best" dates do vary wildly on the different types of confectionery because of a range of factors. Some products like fairy floss might only have 2 or 3 months from the date of manufacture whereas Crunchy Ice Cream has a shelf life which spans several years.

We deliberately operate our business as low margin / high stock turnover and as a result our products rarely sit on our shelves for very long, this is a totally different situation to a lot of our competitors who have stock sitting for an extended period of time. Our stock turns over amazingly quickly and we have pallets of stock coming and going every single day. This means that the products we dispatch have a great chance of having as much of the manufacturers shelf life as can be expected.

The export agents used are given strict instructions to ship only the stock which will have the best possible life when it arrives at the Australian wharfs, however, it is worth noting that a lot of imported lines from the US and UK goodies do often arrive to us with comparatively short dates and, unfortunately (as with all stockists of imported goods), there is little that can be done to avoid this because of the product nature / distance they travel on the water / wharf / etc.

We always check outgoing stock and we don't send it if we consider that the date on the product is lower than would normally be expected.

We only every send out confectionery that is past its best before date if it is specifically advertised as part of the product offering - The classic example being Hostess Twinkies which are always past there Best Before date when they land in Australia and so we specifically advertise the current imported batches date on our site.

It is worth noting that the "Best Before" date is different to an "Expiry Date". Best before means that the product will be safe to eat past the date shown, but the flavour, aroma, colour, shape, or otherwise will be less than the manufacturer intended the older it gets.

Now - With all the blurb above being said - If you are ever worried about the Best Before date you are very welcome to call us and we can let you know the dates on the current stock and you can decide it you are comfortable with what we can offer.
