As these were a present for a family member she lovred them as the took her back to her childhood and they were the bestlolly she had back then. She thoughly enjoyed having a black tongue.

I used to buy one every lunch time when I was at school many years ago, its great to find them again, they are not as hard as the original bars but they are still yummy.

We had an 80's theme trivia night at daughters school so thought these would be great for the night. Not as good as the original recipe and are too soft. Original choochoo bars use to be hard, black and very aniseed. This recipe is like a softer caramel with a touch of aniseed. How times have changed.
